Plantation Shutters Planner & Visualiser
A high-impact sales tool for Shutters Factory SRL — a browser-based planner and visualiser built with the Canvas API and deployed on Cloudflare, allowing prospective customers to upload a photo of their interior, configure plantation shutters to their specification, and see exactly how the product would look in their own home.
The brief
One of the most persistent friction points in the window covering industry is purchase confidence. A customer browsing online can see product photography, read specifications and choose colours — but they cannot easily answer the question that matters most: what will this actually look like in my home?
The Plantation Shutters Planner & Visualiser was built to answer that question directly. It is a fast, high-impact sales tool that gives prospective customers a realistic preview of configured plantation shutters in their own interior — using a photo they upload themselves — before any commitment is made.
What it does

The tool runs entirely in the browser, built on the HTML5 Canvas API and deployed on Cloudflare’s edge network for fast, reliable access globally.
Photo upload. The customer uploads a photograph of their own room — taken from their phone or camera — showing the window or windows they are considering for shutters. No account required, no installation, no plugin.
Shutter configuration. The customer configures the shutters to their specification: dimensions, panel layout, colour and finish. The configuration options mirror the real product range, so what the customer sees is an accurate representation of what they would receive.
Live overlay. The configured shutter is generated and overlaid onto the customer’s photo in real time, positioned over the window opening. The customer can adjust the position and scale to fit their window accurately, giving a true spatial sense of how the product will look in their specific room, with their specific light and décor.
Export. At the end of the session, the customer can export the final image — their photo with the configured shutters in place — along with the product configuration settings. This gives them something concrete to share with a partner, save for reference, or send directly to the sales team as part of an enquiry.
Why it matters

The gap between browsing and buying in the home interiors market is largely a confidence gap. Customers who can see the product in their own space — not a staged showroom, not a generic render — are significantly more likely to proceed with an enquiry and significantly less likely to return the product after installation.
For Shutters Factory SRL, the tool serves a dual purpose: it reduces the sales team’s time spent on early-stage qualification, and it raises the quality of inbound enquiries — customers who have already visualised the product in their home arrive with a clearer brief and a higher intent to purchase.
It is also a meaningful competitive differentiator. Most plantation shutter retailers offer static photography and a colour swatch. A tool that puts the product in the customer’s own window is a different category of sales experience entirely.
