Booking Website — La Coliba lu' Costache
Design and development of a modern booking website for La Coliba lu' Costache, a privately rented mountain cabin in the Bucovina region of Romania. Built pro-bono in 2024–2025 using React, Node.js, Cloudflare and Brevo.
The brief
La Coliba lu’ Costache is a privately rented mountain cabin situated in the Bucovina region of Romania — one of the country’s most scenic and historically rich areas. The property is rented as a whole unit, making it ideal for family gatherings, group retreats and extended stays. The owner needed a web presence that reflected the character of the location and gave prospective guests a clear, trustworthy way to check availability and make enquiries.
The project was taken on pro-bono — a decision driven by personal connection to the region and a straightforward belief that good technology should not be out of reach for small hospitality businesses.
What we built

We designed and developed a full-stack website using React on the front end and Node.js on the back end, deployed on Cloudflare’s edge network for fast load times across Romania and Western Europe. Transactional email — booking enquiries, confirmations and owner notifications — is handled through the Brevo API.
- Whole-cabin focus. The site is structured around the single-rental model: availability, capacity, amenities and the surrounding area, presented clearly without the clutter of a multi-room booking engine.
- Enquiry and notification flow. Guests submit a booking request through the site; the owner receives an instant email notification via Brevo, and the guest receives an automatic confirmation. No third-party booking platform, no commission.
- Edge deployment. Hosted on Cloudflare, the site loads quickly regardless of where the visitor is browsing from — important for a property that attracts guests from across Europe.
- Low operational overhead. The stack was chosen to minimise ongoing costs and keep the site fast and maintainable without requiring a dedicated server or complex infrastructure.
An ongoing relationship

The site launched in 2024 and has been maintained on an occasional pro-bono basis since. Updates, content changes and any technical issues are handled as they arise — the same quiet, long-term support we have provided to several clients over the years where the relationship matters more than the invoice.
